The Marrow

Marrow - Coffee Table

The human body, with its complex structures and organic beauty, has long captivated artists and designers alike. In particular, the intricate patterns and textures found within bone marrow have served as a profound source of inspiration for our latest creation. By capturing the essence of these patterns and translating them onto sleek plywood, we've crafted a design that seamlessly blends nature with innovation.

At the intersection of mid-century modern design and contemporary sensibilities lies a delicate balance of form and function. With our design, we've sought to honor this tradition while infusing it with a subtle twist of modernity. Clean lines and geometric shapes pay homage to the simplicity of mid-century design, while innovative patterning techniques add a layer of depth and intrigue that speaks to our digital age.

This table embodies my journey into CNC craftsmanship, I programmed and ran the machine all on my own. The wood I utilized was salvaged from a shipping crate, and its captivating grain instantly sparked my imagination—I simply had to transform it into a piece of furniture. This project served as both a personal voyage of discovery and an opportunity to deepen my expertise in machining. I'd been dreaming of crafting a coffee table for ages, going so far as to transport the wood all the way from Maryland to Colorado. This journey was an absolute joy, offering invaluable lessons in finishing, joinery, and programming.

I wanted to hide the lines of the plywood, especially on the legs and I love the turn out.
